The kid inside..

Theres a kid inside all of us… Well thats what I tell myself. hahah! :p … Yes I still indulge myself in a bit of fun here and then… mostly here. 🙂

I was catching up on my anime (japanese animation for you noobs out there.) and found myself getting excited and eager to watch the next episode. Theres this character of the anime I’m watching – Bleach, he died .. and he came back to life but in with a second “release”! I was like “WHHHooaa Whoa whoa…” hehe well making it sound more dramatic but yeah I was excited. He turned into a new hollow… something unexpected.

Btw I follow these two anime closely – Bleach and Naruto. Naruto is quite a good series. (If you’re surfing almost 6 hours a day, play games, loves animation, and still look at computer games – you’d probably know what I’m talking about. ) So yea.. back to Naruto – its full of emotions, plots and what really attracts me is I get to follow Naruto’s growth from a young kid to a teenager and to a young adult. Its like I know alot about him. hehhee..

Was pondering of starting a new section in my blogs talking about games, animes, cool stuff…. hmm… Oh I get the “itch” to get a console when I saw the debut of Halo 2, Halo Reach, Fall out 3… wah……….. patient my boy.

And just for your information. Anime is NOT (just) a cartoon. 🙂 Its more than that. Its art, emotions, CGI, story-lines, interesting plots and characters with personality all cooked in a pot. 🙂

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be succesful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” ~ Joshua 1:6-9

Just before I read this, I was playing “This is our time” …

What a day to be alive
What a time to live my life
To have a destiny and call
And see it day by day unfold
What a day to know You Lord
To live and walk within Your love
To see the wondrous things You’ve done
And know there’s greater things to come.
And we sense the wonder of it all
We feel the urgency
There’s not a day to be wasted
God help Your church, help us to see.
# This is our time, this is our day
Now’s not the time to hold back or delay
Dreams can live again
Faith and hope restored
Taste and see that the Lord is good
This is the day of salvation
A time to break free from containment
People need, people need the Lord.

I took some time to write this letter… hoping it would somehow make an impression in the CG member’s life or at least refresh them. In this busy world, it tends to get disorienting and distracted!

Dear guys and gals,
This email/ letter is more for those who have graduated (recently or not so recently) and those that will be graduating. I’ve been meaning to write this letter quite a while a go. It was not until in a leader’s meeting that Pastor Daniel shared a bit of advice for those who are graduating that I decided to stop procrastinating. .. :p .. well maybe for a little while more until I finish drafting this email. 🙂 haha!
I was thinking to myself what I would like to share with you guys. Theres plenty.. only problem is what is the most important. You know how I tend to overload you guys with loads of info! hehehe so yea I’m keeping it short and simple.. okay okay .. not so short.. but not too long. 🙂 hehe.
I caught myself pondering the other day – If I had 3 things I wanted to impress upon you guys when you come out, what would it be? I thought about what I went through in my uni-days and the start of working life. So heres what I think is important for you to comprehend and practice.
I know I’ve not been a very good or great leader but it is my hope that you learn what is good (if any) from me and improve on what is bad. 🙂 My hope is to see each one of you blossom (for gals) or shine (for guys) into leaders of your own accord and great men/women of faith. Be leaders in whatever arena you are in. – workplace, ministry, CG, your own family etc.
A little late for those who have graduated for a year now, but hey! better late than never. 🙂
1. Keep your heart in check. – the moment your heart is hardened (meaning you care more about other things than God) you’re heading for trouble. Always keep it in check. Do alot of self-reflection and wrestle with God.
2. Be true to God. Be honest with your words. – The first thing you can practice is to watch the words that come out of your mouth. Be true with your words. Do not let any lie come out of those lips. I struggled alot with this when I was growing but God enabled me. If you fall, its okay, get up and try again.
3. Be humble and teachable. Be a servant. – Serve! Learn! Grow! Always be on the look out for learning opportunities. In every circumstances, what does God have to say about it? You might learn a thing or two about Him. 🙂 Servanthood = leadership = Sure-shot way to grow.
With the 3 above, I pray that it would be a small part of your foundation in life and pray that you would continue to build upon your own foundation with other men and women of faith that God has/ will arrange for you to meet in your journey.
Heres 10 guidelines that Pastor Daniel shared with the young adults in Russia when he was there a few days ago.

3. Remain connected to the Christian community
    a. Don’t keep talking about the “good old times”

4. Be in an accountability group

5. Remain humble and teachable

6. Don’t make comparisons between churches
    a. Focus on the present and future

7. Draw boundaries about work

8. Make right choice about life partner

    b. 3 guidelines on relationship
